University of Warwick Enrols the First MSc Financial Technology Cohort
University of Warwick has enrolled the first cohort of the MSc Financial Technology. The programme sits between the School of Business and the School of Computing and is aimed at people already working in banks, payment companies, regulators and fintech startups who want to move from operating a system to designing one.
The curriculum covers financial markets and institutions, corporate finance and valuation for digital assets, programming and data analysis for fintech, payments systems and open finance, blockchain and tokenisation, machine learning for finance and credit risk, cybersecurity and operational resilience, RegTech and financial regulation, and fintech product strategy and venture economics. A module on ethics, inclusion and sustainable finance technology is compulsory.
Kwame Mensah, a fintech product lead in Accra, is in the first cohort. "I can ship a feature," they said. "What I could not do before this programme was argue with a risk officer in their own language about model governance. Now I can."
