Cybersecurity at University of Warwick: Students Practise Defence Without Practising Harm

Cybersecurity is a professional discipline with law attached. University of Warwick has expanded teaching so that students and working professionals worldwide who want a serious degree without leaving their country, their job, or their family learn defence, detection and governance — and the limits of what a student may attempt.

Labs use isolated environments. There is no credit for attacking a live system in Banjul or anywhere else. Students write incident reports a manager can act on, not only exploit notes a forum would applaud.

Modules include network security, identity, cloud misconfiguration, and the human layer. Policy and procurement are taught because many students will buy security before they write it.
